clean out?

Dazy,

Do you know what the pills are for? In the kit I got for my colonoscopy there were 4 pills that helped to clean me out. That may not be what yours are, but I would check, if you don't already know.

I'll be drinking Fleets PhosphaSoda w/lots of clear liquids the afternoon before my surgery. I'll be having the Lemon-Ginger flavor mixed w/Sprite, thank you very much! It's really not that bad. I'm also on a liquid diet for that whole day and nothing after midnight. The reason for this is I'm having repairs for a cystocele and I also have endometriosis, so my uterus might be (hopefully not) stuck to the bowel. The Doc explained that if the bowel gets nicked, it is IMPERATIVE for the bowel to be clean so she can repair it.

Follow Doc's orders. If she/he said no prep - hurray! And if you're told to do a prep, try to have a sense of humor about it and do it. They know what they're talking about.

thanks

the pills i'll be taking are for acid in the stomach. A couple the night before and a couple with a sip of water the morning of the surgery.
My surgery isn't scheduled until 1:00. So maybe it is a good thing not to clean out for I would probably be dehydrated.

Thanks

dazy

prep

HI guys, I was told just to eat normal the day before but to do a fleet enema at bedtime. Also for some reason I have to do a medicated douche before I leave for the castle...I haven't heard of anyone else needing this. Hope he isnt trying to say something!!!!LMAO I take care of things down there. lol

I'm glad to hear they don't do bowel prep

I have three kids, the first one born in 1969. When I went in to have her they gave me an enema, and then an epesiotomy, and even though I was 19 and strong as a (female) ox I had an awful time with constipation afterward. Eleven years later I had the first of my two boys and they no longer did enemas, but I had another epesiotomy. I was really afraid of constipation and I had no problems. Two years after that I had no enema and no epesiotomy and it was a walk in the park. When I asked my OB in 1980 they said they found that enemas before childbirth did way more harm than good. Maybe they are finding the same thing about hysters. I hope so, because I am nervous about constipation. After 34 years, I still remember trying to go to the bathroom for hours in pain with a crying newborn.

clean out?

My doctor told me bowel prep was not necessary so I didn't do anything. They are all different.
