How long till the Gas leaves?

I'm 6 days post op and I have walked off the gas introduced for surgery, but the intestinal gas is killing me. It's worse than the tumor and surgery. It's getting a tiny bit better, but you can hear it if you sit next to me. I am doing ALL the right things. gas x, walking, bm's are everyday but hurt, eating bland fruit, taking fiber etc.... Is this normal? Please share. Thanks.

It's normal. The gas was with me for atleast 2wks, the pain was more worse then the surgery. Keep on taking gas x. It will pass with time, mine didn't get better till into the 3rd week. Even at 7wk post-op, sometimes I get the gas pain depending what I eat.

The gas issue was a major issue for me. I had it last for about 2 weeks. I am still not done with it and I am almost 11 weeks out. Last week was very gassy. It wasn't like right after surgery but I felt like I was going to explode. Gas-x is works wonders. This week I am feeling fine and cross my fingers I am finally getting back to normal. Walking also helps. Hang in there it gets better.

ok. cool. It is already getting better. Ive been on a very strict diet and it seems to be working and Im only 7 days post op. great news thanks!

I took Acid Reducer over the counter and this helped a lot as well as walking around the house to help me burp.
