spotting and pain?

It is now the end of April and I had surgery the end of January..all has gone well..my back is sore from the epidural but my tummy felt great. I sometimes have days where I feel like I am having my period as my legs and tummy hurt..is that normal? After sex I had spotting too that night and the next day...my stitches should be gone so why bleeding?

Re: spotting and pain?

I wish I could offer some kind of reassuring advice but I'm wondering the same! Why all the spotting right? It's scary and I'm just tired of it. I haven't even had sex yet. I hope you get some answers

Re: spotting and pain?

If you kept your ovaries you may still feel some effects when you would have gotten your periods. My back sometimes hurts a little bit.

I had bleeding after sex and saw the doctor about it. It turned out to be granulation tissue, which is new connective tissue and tiny blood vessels that form on the surfaces of a wound during the healing process. The doctor applied some silver nitrate to try to chemically cauterize it. I didn't experience any more bleeding but it seems I continued to grow more granulation tissue, so she did another treatment. It would be worth calling your doctor is you're bleeding.

Hi! If you kept your ovaries you will still experience symptoms from ovulating. I still get PMS and sore boobs. I would call your doctor about the bleeding. You may have some granulation (scar tissue) on the vaginal cuff that may need to be cauterized with silver nitrate. I had the same problem and had to have it done twice. It doesn't hurt and I haven't had any problems since. Please call your doctor just to be sure. At this point in your recovery, you shouldn't be bleeding any more. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck!
