Swelly belly worse with abdominal TVH?

Do you know if it makes a difference with swellly belly if you have your TVH done vaginally or abdominally? I wonder if the healing time is longer with it done abdominally. Without really knowing, I would think that it would be. Any knowledge on this?

I had a TAH and didn't suffer much from swelly belly at all.
While it is certainly possible you might have less swelling with a TVH, because there is less trauma to the abdomne, I do think it has a lot to do with the individual and how they heal.

Hi, I had a tah/bso and did have some swelly belly. It got better day by day. After a while it was gone and I was back in all my normal clothes again. Just remember to follow your dr's orders, go slow and easy.

I find the more you do before you should, gives you more of a swelly belly. Just take things slow, and listen to your body. When you do too much, lay down immediately and rest. It's the best thing for warding off the belly.
