happy to be losing spare and broken parts

Here's the story.... of a lovely lady.... who was bringing up 3 very rambunctious boys. I almost 31 and in 1 week I am having a hysterectomy. I am sooo very happy that I want to tell anyone who will listen.

I have symptoms that many women don't experience until they are in their late 30's or early 40's. First I had bleeding so heavy that I was changing every fifteen minutes. I would bleed through a super plus coupled with maxis. Just getting through a workday was exhausting. I cramped more often than I didn't, complete with backaches and leg cramps.

After nearly 3 years of this my doctor performed an endometrial abalation. That where they put a balloon in the uterus and flush it with scalding hot water. That ended the bleeding problems but put me into a premature menopause. I began cramping 3 out of 4 weeks of the month as well, with anywhere from 21 to 32 days between cycles. Then came the hot flashes, night sweats and mood swings that made a baracuda seem lovable. My poor kids and husband don't know where to run for cover most of the time.
Truth is neither do I.

Since my ablation I have also gained about 15 pounds. I swell without cause, which makes my weight very daily. I have been known to gain 10 pounds overnight.

Thankfully I found a doctor who is sympathetic and wonderful. The girls I work with swear by this man. I can't wait until after the surgery. I am sure life will be better.

Thanks for letting me tell my story.

Thanks for Sharing

Thank you for sharing your story. It's my first day at this site, but hearing various people's life stories helps me a lot. Sometimes you feel you are all alone with your problems, but it is good to know that there are others out there successfully surviving similar situations.

I'm in the process of deciding about having a hysterectomy, but I think I have already made my decision to do so. I have about three or four fibroid tumors, and I'm at the point now where I feel about six months pregnant. I am going through a great deal of discomfort each day -- extreme tiredness, continual urination, not being able to eat much because the tumors are pressing against my stomach (yet still gaining weight). I am supposed to be married in March, so I really feel I need to do something about this. Ironically, my boss told me she had fibroids in the past, and that the hysterectomy was the best thing she ever did. I hope that all goes well with your journey, and thanks again for sharing.
