8 days post hysterectomy: Insomnia

Hi ladies,
Has anyone suffered from insomnia after surgery? I'm going crazy. I can't sleep at night or in the daytime. I slept so well before my surgery. As soon as I laid my head on the pillow a would be out. My husband and I would watch a movie together and I always fell asleep in the middle of the movie. Lol
What's happening to me? How long will It be until I can sleep well again? I feel sleep deprived.

Re: Insomnia

Aloha MonteFlor,

Welcome to my world of non sleep. Be happy that your not getting the chills, sweats, and constipation that I had too... ha ha ha..

When I asked about the sleep issue and the rest of them except constipation. The answer I got was that my ovaries are in shock, "sleeping ovaries," and it will take a while for them to figure out what just happened to and start producing the right amount of hormones.

Hope this helps.

Blessings,
Lawai Lady

Thank you Lawai Lady. I hope this corrects soon. I was awake literally all night. It freaks you out when you know you should be sleeping.

Re: 8 days post hysterectomy: Insomnia

Glad to hear sleep gets back to normal. I'm 5 days post-op and sleep in 2 hr. segments. I always had trouble falling asleep and was a light sleeper, but since hysterectomy it's been worse. Wake up ovaries!!!!!

Re: 8 days post hysterectomy: Insomnia

I have the same issue. I slept great while on pain killers, but once I stopped I toss and turn. My body feels weird and it keeps me up. I'm exhausted but takes hours to fall asleep. It makes me nervous because I know I need the rest, which probably makes it worse. Argh... Hope it gets better soon.
