on the hormonal rollercoaster ride :grr:

I've been on 2 different types of hormones for PCOS, fibroids and heavy, painful cycles. Talked to my doc finally told her I thought I was ready just to do the endo ablation, but she really doesn't want to do it with my age, I'm only 30 and she's afraid that I might want to have more children and doesn't want that chance taken away from me. but anywho back to the hormones. the first month I was on them I was a little apprehensive. Didn't know what to expect. when it came time for me to have a cycle, my body wents NUTS. I hurt so bad I cried for 3 days and it still didnt' slow it down. so then she put me on a much higher dose. Oh man, I tell you, I was so tired and I'd swell, I drink about 5 24 oz sports bottle of water a day while I'm at work, the being tired all the time was the worst. I could get a good nites rest and still wake up wanting to go back to bed. I would be sitting at my desk, and catch myself dozing off, and also catch myself if I had to sit at a long redlight. I have 2 boys and can't be that tired all the time. altho it was nice having a somewhat light cycle for the first time in I can't remember how long. so, it was decided that that dose was way to strong for me, so I was put back on the original dose plus Lexapro to help with the mood swings. I have gained 10 lbs in the past 1 1/2 months and I don't like it one bit. Yes, I have a few extra pounds, but I was losing weight before the hormones. I had lost 35 lbs before being put on them. I have nite sweats and day sweats (I work in an office), I'll be sitting at my desk just a sweating, I have to keep a fan on my desk so when I break out in a sweat, I can turn it on for a few mins till it passes. I hate having the mood swings but what can you do huh? the Lexapro helps some, but I still have my days. I don't understand why I keep gaining weight when I haven't changed much in the way I was before the hormones. She had my thyroid tested when I was having all my blood work done to find out what was wrong w/ me and it came in the "normal limit". Anyone with any ideas I would appreciate it.

just plain awful today

I HURT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now that I have that out of the way. My rt ovary feels like someone is pinchin the mess out of it. It's been feeling that way, on and off, for the past couple of days. but today it's almost unbearable. My left one feels like a low throb. I'm bloated really really bad, UH I HATE FEELING THIS WAY. Some days I think that the hormones are working, other days I feel just blah, I'm tired all the time, miserable the next. should I have my levels tested again?

Dear,

Call your doctor ASAP, if you don't already have effective pain medication for this. Heck call your doctor even if you do. Sounds like you have several issues going on that need to be addressed.
