Question about external stitches

I was wondering if any of you who had TVH have any external stitches. Had my surgery 2.5 weeks ago and still have a stitch at opening of vagina. This thing is driving me crazy. I feel it when I walk, when I sit, when I go to the restroom. Shouldn't it be gone by now? Hoping someone else has this problem. I am going to call my DR office Monday but any insight would help.

Thanks

Question about external stitches

Sorry, I didn't have any external stitches with my TVH so I don't have any helpful info for you. Just wanted to bump you up so someone else can chime in if they've experienced this. Hopefully your doc can take care of it on Monday for you. Best wishes!

Stitches

Nan, my surgery was Oct. 5 '05 and I have a lot of external stitches on perineum repair, and two holes made on either side externally to insert mesh. Some of them have not dissolved yet & I can feel them. If they bother me, I put some antibiotic cream on them since they're external anyway. They'll be cut off on 11/11 when I see the Dr. and I'm going to leave them alone.
Hope this helps...hugs...Jeanne

Question about external stitches

I was just unsure about how long these things should last. I am pretty familiar with perineum repair after having three large babies, but never had any stitches visible after having the children. I really hope the Dr says "Come on over and we'll take care of those annoying stitches". Jeanne, best of luck on your DR appointment. Thanks Ladies!
