Well I am almost to the 4 week point, I had a robotic assist hyst/bladder lift (they took my uterus and cervix but I kept both ovaries) I missed my post op appt and have to re-schedule but I am feeling pretty confidant that I am well on my way to healing.
Pain is at a bare minimum and when I have any it is more uncomfortable rather than painful, I have not had to take anything for pain in the last week.
My incision scars are smooth and thin (they used surgical glue rather than stitches) I only itch a little on the belly button incision and over the duration of last night and today I have been without my abdominal support band and only have a slight uncomfortable twinge of pulling pain when I descend the stairs too quickly or lift anything above 10 pounds.
Bladder function is good..thought I was working on a UTI last week but it has gone away after a regimen of good fluid intake .
I do have some faint burning pain if I twist wrong or sit wrong putting my knees up! I do have a concern that this pain is the "friction" holding the sling for my urethra in place, does this friction cease, can it cause problems later if it does not??
When I got to the time I was supposed to menstruate I DID get quite emotional and a more than a little depressed but as that space of time progressed it got better, is this something I should expect every month or will this taper off?
All in all I think I am doing quite well
