4 days post op first bm

I have been eating a high fiber diet, drinking lots of water and taking stool softeners but last night I finally resorted to taking a laxative. I didn't want to because they can be harsh and cause a lot of cramps and I'm already still sore, but I figured the longer I waited the worse it would get. I had a restless night but this morning was able to go. It was uncomfortable, but only because of the cramping. Also, my bladder issues seen to be over so hopefully no more catheters woo hoo! I looking forward to feeling like myself again.

Good morning! You will get there! Some days you may not feel like you are improving , but it takes time and you will do just fine. Take care of yourself and follow your doctors orders to the "T". I had quite an issue w/ my first BM, but my hubby was a trooper and assisted me in the oh so embarrassing enema! I felt so good afterwards! haha Best wishes to you!
