Small enema???

I just talked to the Dr's nurse because I was worried about pre-op prepping. My pre-op appointment isn't until 10:15 the day before. It seemed like others were doing things days before. Well she said all he requires is a "small enema" the night before. What would a large one be? Do they come in sizes? Anyway no liquid diet before hand or anything.

Hi- Unfortunatly I think they do- WHen my sister-in-law had her baby I told her from a bad experience I had afterwards she should ask for an enama....LOL
They brought this thing in that was HUGE and used it...She is still mad at me for that...lol
They should have just hooked one end to a hose pipe and stuck it up in her- She said Thats how much she felt like was going in anyway...
They sell the smaller (fleet) at drug stores-

Oh yes, enemas come in different sizes. Fleets come in small bottles of about 6 or 8 oz. The larger ones can be a thousand cc's (about the same as half a two liter soda bottle). I'll go for the smaller one!

If I were you, I would call and ask her to be more specific!! If I had the choice of a 6 or 12 oz, I'd want to know for sure!!!

Please be sure that you follow the doctor's instructions exactly...this is really important!!!

I just had my pre-op appointment today and was given a 4.5 oz. enema to use the night before my surgery. I didn't realize that there were different sizes!

Yes, the Fleet comes in different sizes and then the one you could get at the castle is a whole other animal...
Seems like most of us have been told to use the small one, and in the grand scheme of things it's really not that big a deal at all, not painful and it works pretty quickly.
