No advice needed, just grateful.

I just feel the need to thank everyone. Not just the sisters here. It is difficult to just say thank you. My fears and concerns aren't just my own. I have learned that if I share my thoughts with those that surround me, I have get so much in return. I love my family, I love my friends, I love my co-workers. This is a frightening time for me and everyone has shown support.

Now, I want to hear from other pre-op ladies. Women who feel similarly. Who else feels like me? Scared silly but comfortable in the fact that someone else is looking out for them.

Yes, many of us have been where you are about to venture, but know you aren't alone and if you have any questions we will try to answer and help you the best we can.

Best wishes on your upcoming surgery.

Dianne,
I am really open with my friends, family and co-workers. My general philosophy is that we all benefit from each other's experiences and we benefit greatly from each others' support. Everyone has been very supportive of me as surgery date draws near (I believe that we share the same date). At work I've pretty much designated people to watch me to make sure that I don't inadvertantly do really goofy things because I'm becoming increasingly disctracted.

The fact that so many people who "have my back" gives me a tremendous sense of peace. I don't know how long this "peaceful easy feeling" will last, I admit to having lots of nervous energy right now (I'm using it for lots and lots of house cleaning) and I expect I might freak about my first overnight stay in a hospital (I mean castle). But all in all I think the support of those around me has made a WUGE difference.

Dianne,

I'll just say a big 'amen' to all your comments!

My level of nervous energy is at an all time high, Spasmo! Can't sleep, and am thinking of a lot of things to fill this last day. This time tomorrow, I should be a mess!!! But after 1:50, it'll be a done deal. Just keep telling myself that.

Good luck to you both

Thanks to all of you.

I am so amazed sometimes. I feel like I schlep through the day to day routine of life, sometimes feeling alone. But those occasions when I find my voice and say "I need help", there comes the calvary to the rescue!

I love them all. And if I had any doubts about whether or not they know it, I think their responses make it obvious. Totally "Barney" moment for me.
