Hysterectomy: February 4th, 2002
Surgery Type: TVH
Ovaries: Removed both

Important Question
I have had a vaginal vault smear (I have no cervix left) every year since my hysterectomy in 2002. DRs differ on this, but mine feels it's best to err on the side of caution.

Important Question
I asked the same question at my 4week check up. And he said that I need come back in December this year, which would be my yearly exam. Even though I do not have a cervix, my ovaries still need to be checked out.

Important Question
The nurse educator told me before my surgery that even if they took everything you still need to have a pap every 2 years to check for vaginal cancer. I'm having to go back for checkups every 3 months for a ca-125 test because I had a boarderline tumor.
