2 weeks post op today

Hello everyone,

It is 2 weeks today since my surgery and I'm doing great! I am able to sit at the computer now for about 30 minutes at a time. I have been taking 1 block walks every day for the past few days and today felt great so I went for a 4 block walk, maybe a half mile? I had started walking the day after surgery in the hospital because of extreme gas pains, so I think this helped me get better quicker.

The only difficulty I have had so far is really at night. Around 2-3am I wake up in pain and as soon as I relieve my bladder I'm better; has anyone else had this experience?

I go to the doctor tomorrow for my 2 week follow up and was considering driving myself, but have decided to have my husband take me so he can be there to hear what the doctor says! I feel like he thinks I'm a light switch one day in pain the next fine? Perhaps if he hears the doctor say that I'm not to do this and that (I'm taking the do's and don'ts list from here) then he will realize the reality of it all, I'm hoping anyway

I have read a lot of the post here and all the guidelines on the follow up emails and am so very grateful. I'm a little worried about some of the talk of prolapse, this did happen to a friend of my mothers and I will take that subject up with the doctor tomorrow. I am almost off of the Darvocet, had 2 yesterday and one this afternoon, still taking the stool softener and occasionally drink the "Smooth Move" I read about here when I need the extra help. I had digestive problems prior to the surgery so I'm not surprised I still do.

I have lost 10 pounds since a month ago, is this normal? I need to lose another 80 so I'm not complaining, but was curious if the deminished appetite is a normal part of this? nice perk On occasion I feel like I'm warm, but I don't think it is hot flashes? just kind of warm and clammy, but no fever. Another thing I noticed is that I get cold now. Before the surgery I was always turning the airconditioner down to 72, now I find I'm happy at 74-76 degrees and in the morning when it is only 68 in the house I find I feel cold, where as before I loved it that temp!

Well that is a lot from me after not posting much, guess I'm truly feeling better.

Weight loss is normal... due to lack of appetite and maybe what they took out.

Stop drinking about 2 hours before bed - and make a bathroom stop before bed. This is what helped me - those middle of the night runs to the bathroom were not pleasant.

Definately have the doc talk to DH - I think mine calls his ffice more than I do.

Heck I was shivering this morning _DH hogged all the sheets and blankets and the vent blows right on my side of the bed... I made him turn the A/C off and he lost all the covers. LOL
