Re: Surgery is this Friday. Scared.

Hi Amber Rose

Will be thinking of you as I'm scheduled for TAH Friday 18th too. I'm turning into a wreck but trying to not show this in front of kids. Good luck for a speedy recovery X

Re: Surgery is this Friday. Scared.

You all are the Best. It's so hard to have all these unanswered questions about recovery in my own mind... and then have to answer the questions of others. I so wish I knew... you know? I understand everyone heals differently... wouldn't be great to know how we would heal ahead of time... before the surgery? This way we could answer the questions we are asked. My poor kiddos. They keep asking me questions about *when* I will be able to do this or that... and I simply don't know.

Re: Surgery is this Friday. Scared.

Well I just had surgery, but I will tell you what several people and the Dr, told me.

You only have 1 chance to heal properly. Why risk it??? In regards to cooking Christmas dinner, I would vote NO!!!! I am not cooking ours and my surgery is several days before yours. Think of how heavy the pan of ham or turkey is. or the pan of potatoes? It will be well past your weight restriction I am sure.

The drive... Again I vote NO. My Dr. said no riding for at least a week and no driving for 2 if possible... The risk of seatbelt injury and the bumps are not worth it....

As I said just my opinion....

Re: Surgery is this Friday. Scared.

Good Morning, Lynnw28. I am heading out to my pre-op appointment in a bit. Full physical apparently. Chest x-ray, EKG, blood work... meeting with the surgical staff, anesthesiologist... and so on. Going alone for this one... Hope it won't be too stressful.

Re: Surgery is this Friday. Scared.

Do what you have to do! and get it done. I had less than 2 hours notice a 3pm appointment and I was in pre-op by 4:30pm and surgery by 6:30pm. Luckily, they got the large tumors and some of the cancer. Recovery is whicked slow. Still in hospital at one week mark.

Re: Surgery is this Friday. Scared.

Dear LaDomo,
How your journey has just stopped me in my tracks! I pray that you are doing well and that you will fully recover from your surgery and the cancer. Just when I think I am having a hard day, I read your short story and realise I have nothing to complain about.

May you find peace and healing at this time. Blessings,

Kimberley
