TLH: Laproscopic incision locations

I am scheduled for a TLH on 8/8...just wondering where the incisions tend to be.

I read that there will likely be an incision in the belly button.

I've read over and over again that I should get granny underwear for post-op, but I'm wondering if granny underwear is still the way to go for a TLH if the incisions are in different places than an abdominal surgery?

I have one incision in my belly button, two on my right side and one on my left side. All are about belly button level. Regarding the underwear: the bigger & looser the better!! Good luck to you!

I have an incision in my belly button, and two incisions on each side. Mine are all about belly button level also. I didn't go for the granny panties, but opted instead for some seamless microfiber panties which have been very comfortable. My grown daughter has gotten quite the laugh out of me wearing what looks like such racy panties after my surgery. The microfiber stretches easily and never cuts into my tummy.

I had a Da Vinci laparascopic surgery, and my incisions are also all above my hip bones, around the belly button.

I didn't buy granny panties, I am wearing my regular low-cut underwear. I wore low-cut boy shorts for the first week or so. They don't come anywhere near my incisions, so I feel I made the right choice. I think if I had bought granny panties, they would have bothered me because they would have hit where the incisions are.

belly button, over left ovary and hair line on pubic bone. I am wearing my regular panties as they are high on the leg but under the belly button and they are fitting fine.


the belly button hole is for the camera and the others are to do work in specific areas. YOu could end up with just the belly button and pubic bone. The holes are small and heal fast.

I had a LAVH and have 4 incisions. One in my belly button, one either side, above my hip bones, and one just above my pubic bone. I wore the hospital mesh panties for the first 5 days, then switched to boy shorts for a couple of weeks. Back to my usual thongs/G strings at 4 weeks post op.
