Pre-op and 5am tomorrow morning

Well had my pre-op yesterday and I am cleared for surgery tomorrow at 5am Yea! Early morning, nothing like getting up at 3am to get ready for a scary surgery. You never know how nervous you are till the day before the surgery. I didn’t sleep well last night and don’t think that I will tonight. I hate waiting. I went through the same surgery in Sep 07 and I kind of know what to expect but it is a major surgery and it’s still scary. One question I have is why is it that we wait till the last minute to do all the stuff that we need to do, like, clean the house, do all the dishes, pack for the hospital, make arrangements for our animals and relax. It was like this for me last time and again this time. oh and yes i did have one last visit from my lovley friend the monthley cycle. Mater of fact it happened when i had to give blood, go figure. Well I don’t think that I will write till I get home but for all of you that are having surgery with me tomorrow good luck.

Pre-op and 5am tomorrow morning

Dear Reeannon I am not pre op but nearly a year post op. I remember feeling very anxious about the op. The only consolation if you dont sleep well tonight hopefully you will be able to have a good rest and recovery afterwards. It sounds like you are well prepared for your surgery. I wish you well and look foward to reading your posts in post op. Do you have a long journey to the hospital? Bless you I hope all goes well.

Pre-op and 5am tomorrow morning

The drive is about 15 min. So I dont have to get up too early, if I sleep at all. Now that its 4:15 pm i am so scared and want to cancel the surgery. I wont but its just a pain to have to wait. Well I am going to clean and pack. I hope that i have every thing that I need. I know that I will forget something, don't we always. But my DH will get any thing that I forget. Does any one have any advice for my DH while he is taking care of me in the hospital? Last time (Sept 07) he got a little annoyed because I kept asking the same question. He is really good to me but I think that its hard for him because he cant fix the problem. Any advice would help. Thanks to all and for all of your support.
