diagnosis and date (TLH for heavy bleeding)

Hi everyone. I hope I am writing in the correct area. I keep trying to reply to certain posts about my condition but it won't let me

I had an ablation done last year and it stopped the heavy bleeding and cramping for a good six months. It was heaven. My Mom passed away and all my problems started again at that time. I started having severe cramping, pain, contractions, and discharge. Now only one or two weeks out of the month am I ok. I have the pms symptoms so severe I feel like I am dying. Not much bleeding though.

Today I got my surgery date. June fourth I will have a TLH. He wants to keep one ovary if possible since I'm only 44. I was also diagnosed with adenomyosis and fibroids.

I'm terrified of course but sick of the pain.

I'm from Ontario and hope to hear from others with similar experiences.

Re: diagnosis and date

Hi proudgramma!

First off, I am so sorry about losing your mom. That is very difficult.

You are posting in the right area as you are pre-op. Regarding responding to posts... Since you have not had your surgery, you cannot respond to posts in post-op. Were you trying to post there?

Your emotional is very normal. This is one tough surgery to process. I have read other posts from women with your problems. Hopefully some of them will see this post and respond.

Thank you so much for the reply and yes I probably did post it in post op.
I hope others see my post too and comment How are you feeling now since you have had your surgery?

Re: diagnosis and date (TLH for heavy bleeding)

It has almost been 2 years for me... very hard to believe.

My situation was a bit different than yours. I had no issue, no pain, no heavy bleeding, no symptoms... but my GP found a huge mass during my annual exam. Rapidly sent to an ultrasound and MRI. Long story short, it was a complex ovarian cyst and I also had multiple uterine fibroids. My surgeon was a gyn onc (I was in the OR 10 days after he examined me, about 30 days after my GP examined me) - there was a chance it was cancer. Everything came out and all tested benign.

But for me, since I felt fine before, I don't feel quite as good as I did before surgery. I feel okay, but best that I can describe it is that I am at my new normal. The plunge into surgical menopause after surgery was very hard. The HRT has helped tremendously, but it is not quite the same.
