Post-op meds reminder

Hi ladies,

It's been almost a year since my surgery and I am feeling pretty good. Frustrating at times, but good.

This is a tip that I have posted about occasionally that I really feel needs to be repeated.

Please ask your Dr. about post-op meds and if you can get them before surgery or at the very least have the person picking you up from the castle bring money so you can get your Rx on the way home.

Our castle is in a different town that is a 1/2 hour away and after surgery my pain management was non-existent for the first 40 or so hours, I got released at 6:00 p.m. and where we live our pharmacy isn't open past 6, this ended up being quite a stressful thing for DH. He didn't bring the checkbook with him (neither of us even thought about it), had to run me home, leave me alone, go back to the "big" city, try two different pharmacies before he found one that was open. He was a mess by the time he got home.

Anyway, just my little reminder

Thank you so much. We live 45 minutes from the hospital and could very well have the same problem. I am putting this on my list right now!

That is an excellent point!! One of my nurses asked me about that. She had my DH come to the castle and pick up my scripts, fill them and bring them home before they released me. She said she didn't want to take the chance of me ending up at home without my meds. She apologized for him having to make the extra trip, but we both thanked her!
