Hey Shellbelle!

Can I join this club? My youngest was 2 in decenmber and she still nurses, but not very often...I call it "sleep juice" since it seems to knock her right out anyway. I already work two double shifts every weekend, so I don't nurse during that period, and everything seems to be working out okay. I guess I just assume it'll be all right if she goes a couple more days without. She goes around very adamantly asking for either juice or milk, and woe betide you if you give her the wrong one!!! LOL!!! She'll also have her siblings and her great-grandma to play with...she'll probably ignore me entirely!

It is nice to hear from some other moms who breastfed beyond a year...sometimes I feel like the Lone Ranger, but I figure she'll wean herself when she no longer needs it.

Hang in there!

Nursing problem all better

Never mind! Whatever was preventing my letdown, whether it was the anesthesia, being too full, or fatigue---it corrected itself. I guess that is what happens when you worry at 4:00 am. Your mind plays tricks and you make things bigger than they are. Oh well!

Breastfeeding after Hyst

Hi! My 20 month old DD still nurses also, and she too uses it only to go to sleep. I know all of you cont. to nurse after hyst. but I noticed some kept their ovaries. Does it make a difference if you have everything taken out? If I do have a hyst, it'll be abdominal b/c of the amount of adhesions they'll have to work through. When I had my tubes tied almost 2 years ago, the MD couldn't even tie my left b/c he couldn't loosen it up. SO, he just cut the tube off at the end, and that was after he spent 20 minutes trying to find my tubes. He couldn't identify them except by the fimbriated ends. Anyway, do any of your babies notice a taste difference with the hormonal change? Thanks a heap, you all are God sent!
