Going Nuts & lots of Wind!!

Howdy, I had my hyster on the 6th May, tomorrow is Week 3.

I had it down laparoscopy - tubes, utereus, cervix taken out vaginally. Apparently Doc found endometriosis as well - never knew I had it.

So I'm lucky that I am not bleeding. But having really bad wind/bm pain - i will get a crippling pain across the bottom of my tummy and then out she comes! When will this end!!

I am so scard to do anything incase I do damage inside, I feel uncomfortable and get niggly sharp pains on either side - down low (ovary sites?)

Reason I had the hyster was cos I keep getting abnormal pap smears and I have had a clean out and lletz down already and still coming up abnormal so Doc decided to take it all out.

I am meant to be going back to work 27th May so kinda freaking out - I haven't driven yet ( too scard).

I just wanna be normal again

Re: Going Nuts & lots of Wind!!

Only 20 days off? That stinks!

I'm a bit over 4 weeks and still get days with lots of gas. I am still on the softeners because I'm still scared to "push". Are you taking softeners?

Re: Going Nuts & lots of Wind!!

Sonlee! I'm glad you found us. The twinges and problems with BM pain are pretty common experiences after hysterectomy. It does get better usually by 4 or 5 weeks. Certainly if you continue to experience pain or it gets worse, let you doc know about it.

I was diagnosed with endo during my hysterectomy as well. I had no idea either. There is an endometriosis forum on this site. There are some great articles there you can read to learn more about your new diagnosis. I found them very helpful. Here is the link: Endometriosis Articles

Happy Healing!
