Back to work..blah!
Today I started back at work. Physically I probably got more rest than I have in a couple of weeks! I sit at a desk all day and sitting has never been a problem for me. But I feel blah. I have a nice easy job with low stress but it's boring at times. I wonder if it's normal to go back to work and suddenly feel like you don't want to work there anymore? Could it be laziness that I developed over the last 6 weeks? I feel really good physically but mentally I feel in a funk. Suddenly I wish I could be a housewife again.

Betty,
It may be normal for some of us to go back to work and suddenly feel like we don't won't to work anymore. I'm sorry you are feeling blah about work. You have been away from your job for a while during recovery and it may just be a period of adjustment you are experiencing as you return to your 'normal' routine. If you find you can't shake the funk you're in, you can always talk to your doctor.
I hope your days get better for you! Take care of yourself!
s, Deb

I feel the same way! Wish I could just be home and not have to work!!! And be physically able to do stuff at home - wouldn't that be fun!!! Oh well, I think it is all part of recovery and moving from one stage to the next. I managed to get through my first full week of work and am more tired this week. Guess it catches up to you. Plus my body is aching me all over - guess that's part of it also. I go to the doctor on Thursday and will ask him about it then. Hang in there and if the funk doesn't go away, talk to your doctor!

Back to work..blah!
When I returned to work I told people that I never thought I would be the type to like staying home, but.... When I got feeling better I really did hate to go back to work.
I work 12 hour shifts. I went back last Wed and Thurs , then had the weekend off. I went back to work last night and worked 12 hours.... I can tell you that it is getting better. And today I am not as sore as I was last week after working...
Take Care
Danette

I am also returning to work this week, and I so certainly understand how you feel. For me , my feelings are mixed. I need to get back for financial reasons, but I have gotten a little too comfy with my stay at home status.
I had a longer than average stay home due to the weight restriction my Dr placed on me. I needed extra time avoiding chance of injury due to my history of adhesions from previous abdominal surgery and the prolapsed uterus which led to this TAH.
Good luck and hopefully things will start to feel better for you as time goes on. Linda
