dVH/RALH Horrific Pain during and after intercourse - 5 months post op

Hi I posted last week about problems I am having 5 months post op after intercourse.... excruciating pain, minimal bleeding, watery discharge - pain that lasted 4 days... pain began in the abdominal area...two days later traveled to the top of the vagina and it was excruxiating to urinate. I called surgeon's office and they suggested I be seen by my OBGYN... she was on vacation and only saw me yesterday. In the meantime, I am crampy at times but for the most part the symptoms have gotten better. OBGYN checked me yesterday (internal exam) and said she saw some blood at the top of the cuff but did not see anything else. She mentioned that this is not her expertise and I should go back to the surgeon. I expressed to her that the first time I had sex 6 weeks post op (with doc's ok), I had similar experience except the pain subsided within 24 hours. I had not had sex since and this time, the pain was 100% worse. Just as a side note, my sex partner has been the same for both issues and was pre-hysterectomy as well. I am very nervous that the surgeon is going to say that the cuff is still healing and that is the issue. I am sceptical of that becuase the pain was so much more severe this time and I am 5 months post op. Has anyone had this issue and it was not a torn cuff? OBGYN said if it was a torn cuff, I'd be deathly ill. If anyone has an info they can share PLEASE!!!!! I see the OBGYN Oncologist that preformed the surgery on the 17th. I am terrified that this is how I am going to have to live the rest of my life with the horrible pain if I engage in intercourse. Thanks for reading and commenting.

I'm so sorry, this sounds horrible. Yes, you need to see the surgeon who did your operation and describe everything. I would think they will need to do some kind of ultrasound to thoroughly ensure no tearing has occurred. I can't imagine watery discharge during sex, could it be a tear in your bladder? I wish you the best and don't let them put you off, keep pushing, get a second opinion if you must...there must be other gyn surgeons in your area who could help if you don't get any satisfaction from yours.

I agree that you need to go back to the surgeon and they need to take a closer look at what is going on. If your surgeon won't see you then ask for a referral to a another surgeon who is familiar with DVH. Did your gyn check your for infection? I would ask for an ultrasound to check if there is any tearing or unhealed tissue on the cuff that can't be seen during a regular exam. Please let us know how you are!
