Any Ideas?

Hi all, I'm slightly embarrassed to get this news out there but I could use some girl advice ! I'm a month post-op now and doing really, really well. After much thought my husband and I decided to 'get back in to the saddle' last night. It was all great but today I feel so, so sore - just like I was immediately post-op, bloated and bruised inside. I KNOW the doctor's say wait 6 weeks but you know how it is and we were very gentle..... I don't have any bleeding but just wonder if any of you have been in a similar situation? Do I need to go red-faced to the doc and confess?

I understand how you wanted to "get back on that horse" (lol) but I hope you haven't run the risk of infection. You might want to contact the doctor, yes red face and all!! and let him/her know so that a check can be kept on things. We waited for the six month go-ahead, but I'm sure there are others who didn't. I hope you get some reassuring news from them! I hope you continue to heal nicely and that you have a good recovery.

I think I'd definitely get some medical advice, just in case! I'm only two weeks post-op and know exactly how you and your partner must have felt, but can I suggest some other creative (!) ways that do not involve penetration!!!

Hi!

Yes, we do know how it is. There are risks in having sex too soon so hopefully you haven't done any damage. Only your doctor can tell if you have or not so yes, you do need to call. Most likely your doctor is going to want you to come in for an exam.

The Post-Op Sex Checkpoint has a lot of good information explaining the importance of waiting for clearance from the doctor and that's not just for intercourse. Any type of sexual activity needs the doctor's clearance as what may be safe for one of us may not necessarily be safe for another. It can't be stressed enough that each of us is unique. We don't all heal at the same rate and we haven't all had exactly the same type of surgery. That's why we always say be safe and call. The doctor has heard it all before and is used to this type of question.

I'm sending s! Let us know what your doctor says, okay?

Dh and I resumed relations last night and it was fantastic. TMI, but there was really only one time that it hurt and that was because of a wrong move and a little too much stretching. I just had to stop doing that and it was okay Afterward, I had some cramping and back pain but this morning I'm fine.

I know one of the big reasons for waiting is risk of infection, so it wouldn't hurt to give the doc a call....or if you've got an appointment coming up soon, you could talk then.
