Hysterectomy: February 16th, 2007

Surgery Type: TVH

Ovaries: Kept 1 or both

Are you supposed to stop taking birth controll prior to surgery?

My surgery is less than 2 weeks away and I just read an article saying that you should stop taking the pill 30 days prior to surgery due to increased ris of blood clots. I have not had pre-op yet anyone have any info?

Are you supposed to stop taking birth controll prior to surgery?

I would call and ask your dr. They are all different. Mine had me take BCP until the day before surgery.
