Thinking of switching to Premarin

I am thinking of switching to Premarin. I am tired of the creams and they seem to missing the mark. I feel better with HRT but not much better. Several friends swear by the Premarin and I am so tired of waiting to feel better. I would really like my quality of life back

I hear you, SIC. I played around sooo much because of all the new stuff coming out since I had mine done.

I didn't like the Premarin at first, but then realized (thru experimentation) that this was because they didn't give me a high enough dose. Now, you'd have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands! hahahaha

I know the dosages vary form woman to woman but does size matter? I am 5'9" tall and have a few extra pounds. Sometimes I worry that I am being given dosages for the average 5'4" - 120 pound woman.

I feel the same way. I hope my new doctor would give me a rx for the Premarin tomorrow. I know they start you out on .625mg. and go from there. I also, need a rx for Premarin vaginal cream. I know the last time I used it it helped a lot with the atrophy. Like I previously wrote if there was something really wrong with Premarin we would be hearing about it all the time on the news and they would take it off the marketl. A product that has been around for over 50 years can't be all that harmful.

Good point on how long it's been around.

Yes, they are suposed to start at .625 and go up, but when I told my dr at the time that i was having symptoms, she just changed it completely to something else and I've been searching ever since until a couple (?) months ago when I said to myself.."look, you felt GREAT when you took the 1.25 that time, you're hair stopped falling out etc., so let's go with that" and hope for the best!

Do you take anything else along with the Premarin? Progesterone? Testosterone?
