8 Days Post Op TAH and Doing Great!

Really except for needing naps I am getting around fine, the pain when getting up/moving in bed really minimizing. Ok, I did have a crying jag last night in eulogy of all of my female parts that are no longer a part of me. Had really bad fibroids and it sounds like everything else in my poor uterous. Also had a surgical biopsy on breast during this surgery so no replacement horomones for me due to extensive LCS.

I'm not sure if I'm encouraged or discouraged by your post. I am 5 days post op. Yesterday was my first full day at home and I did pretty well. Went from 4 pm to 3 am without needing pain medicine. Today I decided I could handle a shower and putting pants on. I was shocked at how wore out I got just taking a shower. So your post encouraged me because I AM normal for being wore out still. But then it discouraged me because I might still be this tired in 3 days? I'll blame the ambivalence on the surgery!

I get the 'eulogy' part. It still catches me by shock when I realize that I don't have 'that' anymore. It's so final.

I thought it was just me..lol. I have times where I feel I can "run" a marathon then I find myself looking for the nearest chair. I'm able to hanlde stairs with no problem. It's getting out of bed after resting and the constant bathroom breaks in the middle of the night that wipes me out. I got staples and they are starting to bug me..sharp pains. I get the removed Friday...not sure if that's good or bad.

I find myself still numb to the fact it's gone. I was due to have my cycle around the time of my surgery..glad I didn't have to deal with that one last time.

We are all strong woman who have one less thing to hold us down. Viva the Princess!!!

Hi Ladies

it is great that you are feeling so good, I am now 6 weeks post op and like you all I had a pretty good recovery. I had fibroids so was in constant agony. You will still be tired for a while yet and even though I am back at work and doing most of the things I used to I still find it necessary to sit down and put my feet up for a half hour if i get tired. Your bodies have a lot to recover from and everyone is different so listen to your body and do what feels right to you.
