Anyone not real thrilled with their decision or second-guessing it?

I have a question, anyone not real thrilled with their decision or second-guessing it? Mine was considered elective and while I think I will be feeling better I guess I just keep asking myself if I did the right thing. My DH seems to think so. And while I feel that I was done with childbearing and even at that dreaded "40" mark, I guess I am kinda sad about not having any choices. And also, I went all the way up until the "day before" my surgery thinking I was going to keep my cervix only to find out I wasn't. I guess I am very worried about if "relations" will be okay. I hope so. My SIL said things were fine for her, so that is good. I guess "post-op mourning" is normal, I just hope I made the right decision. I dunno, feel a little empty if you will. Too late now though...I have to "make it" the right decision. I thought about this for 10 months before I did it, so I did have time to think it through.

I'm so sorry you're feeling this way but it's not unusual and I hope some of your ((sisters)) will be along very soon to share. It's major surgery and takes such a toll on the body and emotions.

Hang in there and I hope you feel alot better as your recovery progresses!

I think it is normal to wonder and doubt. I am only 2 weeks out and with no s/o but I have heard a lot of the ladies here say that having their cervix out didn't change their sexual relations.

Funny thing is that I knew mine was coming out and it never even occurred to me that it might change that. Maybe because I haven't done the deed in about a year?? haha

Suzee,

I can empathize in that this was the hardest decision I've ever had to make (my surgery was elective too). Before surgery, I made a list of the reasons why I did it so I could refer back to it when I needed to. Maybe you could try that. I keep reminding myself I did this so I could be in the best possible health. *hugs*

PS: My doctor said that "relations" would be fine since I had that same concern
