Is this an odd pain?

I have my procedure yesterday da Vinci. And I understand I'm going to be in pain and I have the air pocket my shoulder pain also. But, I have a hard time breathing in real deep it hurts on my right side there. Has anyone else ever had this happen? It feels like a stitch when you run I could cramp but then again I also can feel my muscles sore I called my doctor she's supposed to call me back…

Re: Is this an odd pain?

I had the same procedure and experienced a very similar pain. I think it's from being put under. Just try to take deep breaths. For me it lasted about 3-4 days but see what the doctor says. Everyone is different. Sending feel good vibes your way

Re: Is this an odd pain?

Totally normal. What I tried to do was stand up and raise my arms up over my head and back down, side to side, and deep breathing. Movement will help it move out faster. A heat pad was also helpful. For me the gas was worse than the surgery pain itself. Move often, hope you heal fast!

Re: Is this an odd pain?

Sounds like gas pains. Move arms over head, walk. If your ready, hot shower massages body muscles and helped me alot. The activity of washing hair was helpful in removing gas pain. Mine only lasted three days.
Other people noted several days or over a week with gas pain from being bloated up from surgery.
take care, be good to yourself.

Re: Is this an odd pain?

I have that exact same pain. When I go from lying down to sitting up, I can feel the gas bubble move up under my rib. I can't catch my breath for a few seconds. It hurts if I breathe in too deeply. Keep moving and doing slow, deep breaths. It should help dissipate the gas.

Re: Is this an odd pain?

Yes, I had that pain my first 24 hours as well, on the right. And then there was this moment when I moved a certain way and it sort of all went away and never came back. Doctor said its from the gas they use to inflate your stomach.

Re: Is this an odd pain?

That's the gas and omg it can be painful! I swear I still had gas in my body at 2 weeks. The more you move, the faster it goes away.
