Goodbye for now my beloved Chardonnay

Yes, you read this correctly, I, LookingforaSis, am waving goodbye to the last vice I have. In the recent months following my lavh/bso I have gone to great lengths to get healthy. I went from being a couch potato to working out 5 days a week. With months of hard work behind me, you would think looking in the mirror would be more of a pleasure now, RIGHT!? Or not! I still have this glob of fat resting comfortably on my hip bones. So with a fierce intensity I have been researching to try to figure out what I am doing wrong! I ran across some most interesting information which was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Eight men were given two drinks of vodka and sugar-free lemonade separated by 30 minutes. Each drink contained just under 90 calories. Fat metabolism was measured before and after consumption of the drink. For several hours after drinking the vodka, whole body lipid oxidation (a measure of how much fat your body is burning) dropped by a massive 73%.

Wow! I have been doing high intensity cardio every evening after work. Then I would go home, eat dinner and enjoy a wonderful glass of wine. Yes, I have known that the calories in the wine must be accounted for but, I had no clue on what it was possibly doing to my fat burning abilities.

It is with much sadness, I say goodbye to my nightly glass of chardonnay. Hopefully I will soon be able to say goodbye to my 19% body fat measurement as well.

Sisters, if you are serious about losing weight or losing fat, you must consider this. Trust me, if I can do it, so you can you!

Re: Goodbye for now my beloved Chardonnay

Oh NO...not the wine! I gave up my uterus, but I will not give up the wine! JUST KIDDING. Actually, I have realized that the hot flashes and night sweats can be affected by alcohol too-so skipping the wine at dinner means a better nights sleep! Here I was thinking that glass of white would help me unwind and sleep-NOT!
Thank you for bringing this up.

I had a doctor that specializes in diabetes tell me that a glass of red wine once a week will lower bad colersterol
