Scary poop question?

I have had several very loose poops already post surgery, that although no fun at all... Did come out... This morning I had to really push out a poop and that hurt like the dickens! But then I wiped and I had blood coming out of my vagina! Yikes! I have not had ANY vaginal bleeding post surgery at all. The very first time I peed post surgery there was a tiny bit but that is all. So I am kind of freaked out here. I will wait and see if there is any more when I pee next time, but what do you all think? Is this normal? Thanks in advance!

Scary poop question?

Call and check in with the doctor but I would bet that you pulled some stitches bearing down and caused some bleeding. You can't push and that really is hard but don't do it. I know all too well how hard it is to feel like you need to go and you can't get it out. Do you think part of it might be that this bm was a little more solid than what you've been used to so it felt like it different? Again, check with the doc but if you use a glycerin suppository it will make things "slide out" easier with less pushing on your part. Don't risk putting pressure on those internal stitches again. You don't want to damage the cuff.

Scary poop question?

This seems like a really funny question, but how can you poop without pushing??? Do you take something? I take colace so that the narcotics don't constipate me and my poop was normal, but still had to push to get it out? KWIM? Sorry if this is TMI but I am !

Scary poop question?

It isn't so much that you don't push at all, but that with the loose bowel and the glycerin you have to push so much less that you really don't strain yourself. Less pushing and it just kinda slides on out. Gross I know...sorry! I thought the same thing when they said it to me Laurie but believe me, with the rectocele repair I do NOT want to push too hard and when I am able to go, the glycerin is a Godsend!

Scary poop question?

Sounds like too much straining when you had to . Are you using stool softeners? I don't know of a doc who doesn't recommend them so be sure to ask your own doc. Stool softeners are not laxatives -- since laxatives can cause bloating and cramps. Some of us are on them for the rest of our life because of colo-rectal issues. So ask your doc!

Best wishes ~

Scary poop question?

Yup taking Colace every time I take a pain pill. But I just sent my husband out for MOM. I have peed again with no blood so I am feeling way less freaked out now. Thanks guys!
