Got my second opinion finally

I can say I feel much better about my decision to opt for the hyst at this point. My new dr was very thorough. Blood tests, trans vaginal sono, etc. He's at Presby Dallas. My new date is Oct 3rd.

He said because I've had 4 very large babies (almost 10 lbs. each), always heavy periods, my uterus feels very mushy, and also feels too large he suspects adenomyosis. He mentioned me being a REDHEAD! Ha!
Don't we redheads hear that everywhere?! Bleeders!!!

Anyway, now that I have my second opinion and he took 1 1/2 hours visiting with me and patiently answering ALL of my questions w/o making me feel like a burden I feel very good and can't wait for my day to come.

Wow Diana, your post could have been written by me! I, too, have had very large babies...only two, but both in the 9---9-1/2 lb. range. Large boggy uterus and suspected adenomyosis. Going to see my doctor Friday to discuss surgery.

Now what's this about redheads? I'm a strawberry blond. Is there some connection between red hair and heavy periods?

I'm happy you were able to decide and got your date! Good Luck!

My doctors/surgeons were very compassionate and answered all my questions and listened to my requests. I did a lot of research and knew what I did and didn't want. Don't nice doctors just make all the difference? I thank God for answering that prayer. Having trust in the one who's gonna cut you really helps! April
