good reading

found a good book while I was recooping from my op, it is called You Are What You Eat. Easy reading and good for looking up specific things in.

My doctor wanted my iron up as much as possible, so I am taking a multivitamin with iron and additional calcium supplement for my bones.

Don't take iron and calcium together take them at different times of the day.

Hmmm, I take them all at breakfast together. Does one prevent the absorption of the other? There is calcium in my multivitamin too...

Yes the calcium prevents the absorption of the iron I believe. I had anemia for quite a while and I had the take iron 3x a day but had to take it 30 to and hour after the calcium.

Hello Everyone,
I Am Six Week Of Post Op , I As Thinking Since I Was A Anemic, I Was Taking Liquid Iron And The Taste , Igot Use To So I Was Thinking Of Taking That And A Multi-vitamin , I Wonder Will That Be To Much, Help. Right Now I Jus Over Whelmed How Good I Feel Its Great

You need to be careful with Iron. Take the amount the dr tells you and make sure you get your blood checked in about 3 months. The best thing you can do is get organic spinich and steam it and eat red meat. The redder and the bloodier the better. I did that for 3 months and got my iron level up quite quickly.

I Really Appreciate That Advice, I Am Jus So Excited About Feeling So Good. I Had Be Sick With Being A Anemic So Long , I Did Not Know That How Truly My Blood Flow Effected My Brain, Its Amazing How Good I Can Think And Relax Now.

I Start Work Mon 26th I Have Never Smiled So Much Sherry, My Husband Keeps Asking Me Are You Alright, I Say Yep!! Thanj You Once Again

I'm chewing two Viactive per day to help boost my calcium. But that's all. I used to take iron pills daily because my fibroids caused chronic anemia. But my HCT was 39 at my post op visit with no supplimental iron. So I guess that the fibroids were the culprit.
