Weight loss after stopping HRT

Interesting thread ladies. I have been off my Premarin for about 5 or 6 weeks now. I've lost a couple pounds but I'm losing inches I've noticed more than anything...of course this thrills me to death! I'm pretty miserable though...hot flashes, no libido (that's been gone for a long time), grumpy...the works. I have been planning on trying the bioidenticals...is THAT going to cause a weight gain?

Weight loss after stopping HRT

Dear red Paint,

Sorry to pop your bubble, but... I am on bio-identicals and am quitting because of major weight gain. I am starting to think those hot flushes have a purpose...getting rid of this excess fluid... Perhaps instead of fighting, I should welcome them?? :burning:

Weight loss after stopping HRT

This is all so interesting. I was bad and just stopped taking my estradot, will be two weeks tomorrow and I have lost 7 lbs so fare. I had even eaten a little more this last week then normal and still I lost some weight. I am going to see the doctor next week and getting my self ready to do battle. For some reason she wants me on a high dose of the dot too. It took me all most a year to talk her into letting me try Progesterone from a compound pharmacy and I am going to try my very hardest to get her to let me give the progesterone a try by itself. Well with adding vitamin E and maybe black cohosh if it doesn't make me gain weight again. I am on Fosamax for my bones plus I take my Cultrate Calcium. So it's all time a trial. I am so happy that this site is here. Great place to get information as well as support. Its just so frustrating trying to find a happy balanced. But I would do the hysterectomy again in a heart beat. This is still so much better then before the surgery. The pain and pain meds were killing me.
Good luck to us all.
Hugs, 2Pegasus
