belly button pain?

I had a LAVH (also removed one ovary) 2 weeks ago, am doing pretty well, I think. Today I wore jeans for the first time for a few hours to go out, and after I came home and changed, my belly button area hurt. It looks like my belly button was stitched shut, one of my 4 small incisions was through it. Anyone else have a painful belly button? It looks a bit red to me---could I be seeing an infection? I see my Dr in 2 days for post-op eval.

belly button pain?

After my laparoscopy my belly looked like it was a war zone - bruied and swollen! My belly button was very red an swollen - looked very angry. My doc took stitch out and said it should get better after that - it took another week or so but it did. For about 1-2 weeks when I'd wear jeans it'd still be sore and irritated. Now after my TAH 4 weeks ago I can wear jeans for 1-2 hours and then off they come - swelly belly and soreness! I make myself wear them sometimes because I hate sweats now! (Been in them for about a month now) And it makes me feel normal. Sorry - I got off track there! Best thing is to have your doc look at your belly! Happy healing!

belly button pain?

Hi,
I am almost 5 weeks post-op from LAVH. I also have belly button pain, especially if I have done too much or not taken the time to rest enough during the day. I think it is pretty much to be expected; however I do not think your bellybutton should look red or inflammed. If that is the case, I would definitely let someone take a look. There is no harm in being careful. Good luck and happy healing.
