Exercise

Hi sister's! Ok no laughing at me now...but at my 2 week check-up for TVH, kept both ovaries, the dr told me that I could TRY things (except over 15 lbs and sex) and if they hurt to stop. Since I was feeling so good I decided I was going to attend my Pilates class for the first time since surgery. Well to make sure I did not look like a dork in class I decided to try a few of the moves here at home first. So I did about 4 reps of 4-5 different exercises and it felt great! Until about an hour later when I felt twinges, and pulls and tweaks and all kinds of stuff that I was not feeling before. Needless to say I did NOT go to Pilates class yet...I guess I am stuck walking.

Hope everyone is feeling good...I am feeling great. I actually have more energy and stamina than I did before the surgery (but remembering to take it easy as well). I wonder what the heck was going on in that uterus of mine all these years??

Hugs

I'm not laughing..... I can imagine how things must be pulling after that attempt. I'm glad you're taking it easy now. (Of course, I don't think there was EVER a time in my life I could have done Pilates, but that's another story. )

You'll be back in the swing of things really soon! I'm glad your recovery is going well.

Exercise

I had asked my doctor about when I could resume power yoga (lots of core strength work). She had me wait until at least 6 weeks. Our bodies weigh more than 15 pounds, so working yoga or pilates while on lifting restrictions is not a good idea.

Do walk often - it's a key part of recovery!

Sorry, I laughed(hee), but that's just because that sounds just like me. I was thinking about going to Yoga class but remembered the time I messed my neck up trying to do a headstand and couldn't turn my head for a week(plus loads of chiro visits)
Take it easy. Walking is good exercise!
