traditional c-section and novasure?

Hello everyone, I have a question, hoping someone other then me has endured traditional c-sections and then novasure ablation? (Traditional meaning, vertical incision, from belly button down to nether regions)

I had two c-sections the last one 23 years ago. They found what looks like a polyp on ultrasound and want to do a D&C, hysteroscope and novasure. Novasure website says not to do this on women who have undergone traditional c-sections. I asked my doc and he doesn't seem concerned at all about this. Working in the medical field and seeing how most surgeons pay little attention to the manufacturers recommendations, this scares me... I see the deaths and horrible problems from surgeons not using products the way the manufacturer tells them to and I don't trust them... really, I don't trust the surgeons, they think they are God sometimes... and they aren't..

at any rate.... I have searched and searched but all I seem to find are women who had the bikini cut.. most of them did ok with the novasure. Am I the only one left who was cut this way? The first doc was an old geeser and would not do the bikini cut, probably because he didn't know how to do it.

at any rate.... please post if you have had this done...

the doc hasn't measured the uterine walls, nothing... I am scheduled for next thursday 1/22/09 for the hysteroscope and D&C to remove the polyps...I told him I would think about the ablation, he's pushing it big time even tho I told him no way already. I think I'll wake up with it done no matter what I tell him at this point.. did I tell you I hate doctors? Yeah, *blush* I do..

traditional c-section and novasure?

my uterus had a vertical incision but the outside was horizontal during an emergency csection and i was given the choice of an ablation or an lsh. even if you look up the lsh or any type of laparoscopic surgery, it always says that if you've had one or two other surgeries, laparoscopic shouldnt be done. i had no problems at all.
if you dont trust your dr, and you think he'd go against your wishes and do an ablation without your permission, why would you use him? theres so many nice dr's out there..theres no need to use one you dont trust.

it's a long sordid story I won't bore you with. Basically, I honkerblonked them all off with a letter I wrote to the directors. Afte that I found this doc, who delivered my second child and was VERY good 23 years ago. With his experience I'm sure he will do an ok job, I'm just scared... I don't trust any of them at this point. He is the third doc I've seen about this and I'm tired is all. When I switch insurance next year I can get out of this network, but with this being an issue now the new insurance most likely won't cover it if I wait a year.
I just want to get it over with. I don't REALLY think he'll do the ablation if I tell him No, but I'm not sure... he keeps trying to trick me with the terminology, but it doesn't work, I know all the terms... Not sure if it's his sense of humor or what at this point.

Hi Goergina:

Here is a link to a website with info & message boards about ablation: http://www.endometrialablationdiscussion.com/

You may be able to get more info on your specific issues there. I hope you are able to find the right answers soon. I am sending huge cyberhugs
