what is the pain from after a UFE?

When people say they are still having pain, is it pain during menstruation or is it continual pain from the fibroids shrinking? I currently have discomfort primarily during intercourse and no abnormal menstrual pain or bleeding. I am thinking of having the UFE done rather than a hysterectomy. It sounds like it is impossible to make a rational decision because every one is different.

Everyone is different and thus each woman has to weigh her specific pros and cons to determine what is best for her! Having a second medical opinion can be helpful in determining what the best route for each of us might be.

We do have several Fibroid Resources in our database that you might find helpful while you are researching to determine what is best for you!

Take care! s

I have not had UFE, but from from the few women I know who have had it ... it's usually the initial post-procedure pain that was the issue. Here's a link with info that fits what I have heard & how I've seen it controlled: http://radiology.uiowa.edu/UFE/afterufe/index.htm
Hopefully, others who have had the procedure will be by to share their first-hand experience. As you said though... everyone is different.

Kudos to you for doing your homework and exploring your options. Alternative treatments do help many women.
