bright red bleeding 10 days post op after a three day stay at hospital

I was just discharged today because I have an abscess that they can not drain because of its location. Well this afternoon after I got home and took a nap, I went to the bathroom and saw pretty heavy bright red bleeding. My doctor told me to return to normal next week, but I'm on crazy antibiotics ontl top of the ones I was given thru the iv every 2 hours in the hospital. I'm concerned because it feels like I'm having period cramps, and I don't have anything in there to cause a period. I know someel post op bleeding is normal but I'm not sure about this. I hate having to call my doctor because its been nothing but a nightmare since my surgery.

They vhave me on clindamycin for a possible staff infection from beinf in the hospital. I'm miserable with a fever again, stabbing pain and my doctor wants me to wait and see what happens over the next few days

Definitely call. Don't worry about calling too much, as it's your healing that is the priority. Could this be blood from the hematoma or abscess? I said a prayer for you tonight and am hoping you find relief soon. Hang in there, call your doc, and go to the ER if you're filling a pad an hour or feeling worse.

I am not sure where the blood is coming from but I do know when I was in the hospital I didnt bleed muc, than as soon as I got home it started so I'm thinking maybe its from moving around rhe house and not just laying in bed. Its hard for me to relax here because I have two little boys and a husband in thr Marind corps who works 15 hour days and can't take off work for me. I have a feeling this is going to be a long slow recovery
