Waiting/Mood Swings
I am relieved to hear that waiting is the worst part, and I am trying really hard to chill out. However, as my previous post would indicate, I am pretty psyched out by all the "prepping" I have to do: no solid food, drink the bowel prep at noon, take a bunch of antibiotics four times, scrub my stomach twice tomorrow with some special cleanser, and douche (which I have never done before and am worried that if I get it wrong there will be horrendous consequences).
As if all this weren't enough to keep me busy, I alternate with being anxious, excited that an end is in sight, weepy for all the kindness people have shown me, and "deer in headlights" frozen with fear.
Thanks for listening, sisters.

Waiting/Mood Swings
Boy...do you have to do some preparation or what!!!
Over here (in NZ) I am going private so we have no pre-op appt.
We just turn up first thing on the morning of the op.
I have been given no instruction to do anything except don't eat from midnight and get some blood tests done the friday before.
For me the less I know the better

Gosh, I love your screen name!!!!
...I could be minivanmarianne!
Oh, I can surely empathize with you dear...those last few days were the absolute WORST days of my life. I can honestly say that I had never been so scared before (and freaked out by all the prep stuff as well)...:hair: Too bad we couldn't all have some tranquilizers while we wait!
I had to do the go-lytely bowel cleansing and as if that wasn't bad enough, had to do two, yes TWO, Fleet enemas in the morning.....my dh had to help me, since I was exhausted and hadn't slept well at all (talk about sinking to your lowest low!)...
You are so right....waiting STINKS! You will be amazed how you feel when you're post-op and look back on your last few pre-op days...You will be SO much happier.
Just think...in 48 hours (or less) this will ALL be behind you and you will be a lovely new
I am very much looking to hearing from you on the Post-Op side.
Remember we're all here cheering for you!

Waiting/Mood Swings
Went yesterday for my pre op appt with my doc, and today for preop testing at hospital. I don't have all that pre-op stuff...wow! Boy you must be busy. The only thing I have to do is bring my blood type arm band...I have no clue why they give that to me to lose! Very strange, hand me this envelop and say: see you next week? What? No instructions, no nothing? Well, I do go get my tummy marked with a magic marker by the plastic surgeon as he wants the gyn surg doc to make a cut exactly where he wants the tummy tuck to go. Gotta get these guys coordinated!
I like the "deer in the headlights" statement! I find myself freezing up here and there sort of going in a no make sense circles feeling...like an energizer bunny going in circles! "dizzy" Will all be done soon, won't you be happy? Sort of envy you, I am one week after you...GOOD Luck, "minvan"!
