ne1 used vag cream/hormone cream?

oh help, 2 1/2 weeks after a tvh, dr said I should get script filled for this progestin (i think) cream, supposed to put a line of it on my finger and then insert it into my vagina, which is almost sewn shut it seems, and then rub it around in there..?! Anyone else used this stuff and how did you relax enough to keep the cream on your fingertip to get it in there? sorry if this sounds gross, but I really need advice asap!! thanks my hystersisters

My Dr prescribed Premarin cream and it came with a plunger applicator. I really would not want to stick my finger in and be rubbing around just yet. Did your cream come with an applicator? they are much thinner than my fingers and can be sterilized. Sorry I'm not much help to you, just sharing my experience with it.

ne1 used vag cream/hormone cream?

Hey bird:

My doc prescribed Premarin cream also. It comes with an applicator. However, I was instructed to only use 1/2 applicator full (which is a tiny amount) every night for 7 days at one week post-op (it was not painful at all), then once a week thereafter.

It helps the healing process, and keeps tissue supple...

Better check to be sure whether it is progesterone or progestin or premarin. They are not the same thing!! You can buy the progesterone cream over the counter at a health food store, or you can order it online here. I think progesterone cream is wonderful, but different things work for different people.

There are plenty of articles on this site you can research to get more information.

Whadda relief. Cream, premarin, came with an applicator! Does anyone know why I would have to use this, 2 1/2 weeks post op? Stupid me I forgot to ask the doc why I needed this! Thanks for the help, everyone! I am so grateful....

Hey Bird,
It helps healing and help the vag tissue stay supple. I'm not using much, Dr said about an inch in the app would be fine. I'm only using it every other day until tube is gone. I'm a slow healer and need all the help I can get. Have a great 4th!
