Oops! Dropped a stitch!

or should I say stitches! Yup they are coming out pretty regular at this point and I have to say I'm relieved. Hopefully less pulling with them gone. It is so odd to find them either on the pad or when you wipe and boy if you didn't know better it could be pretty creepy! lol What will fall out next???? lol

Oops! Dropped a stitch!

MsKayJay ~ Thanks for the info. I'm 6 days behind you with similar procedures. I wondered when I should start seeing anything. So this is a good time marker for me. Thank you!!!

Oops! Dropped a stitch!

Hi Mskayjay,
I am about 11 days ahead of you LAVH & alot of Posterior repair. I haven't seen any stiches but the bleeding seems to really let up start again. I guess maybe I have been doing too much & the stiches are not dissolving yet. What do the stiches look like when they dissolve?

Oops! Dropped a stitch!

I haven't seen any stitches, and it will be 3 weeks Tuesday for me. I had bleeding the first week, now all I have is a teeny bit of discharge everyone talks about. I don't feel the "puling" as bad as I did at first. I go to see Doc next week.

Oops! Dropped a stitch!

Thanks for the heads up on stitches. I didn't realize they will come out. I too, had an lavh. I am 6 day post op. I thought yesterday once when I wiped after urinating I saw this black maybe 1/4 in. stringy thing...was that a stitch????? I have not bled since the second day of surgery either...is that normal?

Also, all you fellow lavher's....where are your 3 incisions. I have one in the belly button, one belowe that about 2 in. and the last one below that towards the bottom of the belly. I thought they were usually all across from one another?????? Where are yours??

Oops! Dropped a stitch!

SisterAngel ~ One is about 1 inch above the belly button and the other two are down low on each side. I knew I would have the one higher than the belly button. The gall bladder is a marker that surgeons use and mine had been removed a few years back. So he used something else (not sure what!) to get his bearings straight.

No bleeding since leaving the hospital. No discharge. No surprises when pottying.

I did have DH do an inspection this a.m. I knew with the anterior repair that I would have suture and expected that theyd' be visible. I couldn't find them with the mirror so asked him to look. Mind you -- I'd just told him about the posts about "odor" so he wasn't sure he was up to the task. I don't have odor though... so wasn't a trick. He didn't see any stitches either. Hmmm.

Anyhow -- here's to our continued successes!

Oops! Dropped a stitch!

My stitches are a like a dark purply color.....kind of like the darker purple on this page around the "post reply" and "new thread" buttons. What I am finding are the knots with the little left over ends that went beyond them. Once in a while I see one of the little threads like you're describing SA. I guess that they dissolve on the one side of the knot and just fall out from what I have seen. Probably most of you are washing them away when you pee?????? I dunno.....

Gordonk the "odor" was disgusting. I wonder with being those several days behind me if that has made that much of a difference. I have been using a peri bottle religiously because I just couldn't stand it! All of the stitches from your A/P repair are inside your vagina and not visible. The only thing that would be external down there would be if your doc redid your episiotomy like mine did or had to open that area up a bit to reach in to do the A/P repair.

No stitches

While I still have not found the stitches, I have been using tucks, on my episiotomy(SP) which I used for all three babies. They felt great then and feel great now. The also help with the odor thing

SA your dh is a braver man than mine..... lol

hugs to all

Oops! Dropped a stitch!

Thanks Kay! I figured as much in interior stitching. Nope, no episiotomy on me. So far no stitches. There was a strange odor on day 4 but it quickly subsided. Not sure if that was anything important to note or not. My next post-op is on Oct 13. By then (2 weeks away) there's no telling what if anything I'll have left to ask the doc!
