LAVH: Newbie and very nervous about surgery

Hello ladies,I am scheduled for a LAVH on July 17th. I'm so nervous about surgery and the "after" effects. I've had 3 opionins and they all agree this is my last hope. I had an ablation and DNC two years ago. The excessive bleeding has stopped,in fact I haven't had a period in over a year. The severe cramping and mood swings has now taken over. Some days I'm in so much pain I'm doubled over in the fetal position. I also have severe IBS and take a black label warning drug for relief. During my cycle my IBS is soooo much worse. I'm curious if anyone else has issues like mine?

I don't have IBS, but I understand the cramping issues. I assume that the dr. believes that it will resolve some of your symptoms and I certainly hope that it does.

My symptoms are different than yours, but I have IBS and mine is 100% absolutely worse when I'm having my "period" if you can call it that...I'm the opposite in that I can't stop bleeding.

Hi, that is when I am having my surgery too! I just wanted to post to this thread and tell you good luck! I do t have ins, but I do have adenomeosis with the similar extreme pain and black box medication.

It's no fun

I am 5 weeks post op today. I have crohns and IBS. I noticed a big difference in my IBS post surgery. I have been having some episodes recently but I believe those are more stress related. I have been able to stop my pre surgery meds so this is a huge improvement.
