Hmmm How would I know if I have a blood clot in my leg??

How would i know if I had a blood clot?

Let me start by saying that I only had the leg compression devices on for a day, they weren't working and the nurses said I was up and down so much going to the bathroom that it was too much work to keep coming in to take them off and then when I got back in bed to put them back on.

Well yesterday I started getting a pain in my left thigh. If I placed my hand on top of my thigh the pain was where my pinky joint connects to my hand. Now, it is up at the point where my hand meets my wrist.

Is this something I should be concerned about or is it just transient pain?

If you have any questions or concerns that you might have a blood clot, it is better to error on the side of caution and head to the nearest ER as it can be very serious.

I agree with (((Weiser))) better to be safe than sorry. There is an article that lists the symptoms of a Blood Clot. If you have any of these be sure to have a dr check it out right away.

Hmmm How would I know if I have a blood clot in my leg??

Hi,

I was experiencing numbness and pain in my left leg. My doctor decided to run more test. Found a clot in my leg, had to spend 3 more days in the hospital on Heperin and will have to give myself injections in my stomach for three months. Please check that pain out
asap and be very persistant about your concerns.

Glad you got it checked out because you never know! I had a DVT years ago and my leg/foot were extremely swollen, hot and tingly. My calf never hurt and that is where the clots usually begin but at this time the clot was in my hip area. I was hospitalized for 1 week and was in IV blood thinners and then had to take an oral blood thinner for 6 months. I learned to always listen to my body... glad you did the same! Better safe than sorry!
