Surgery Day has been Set..

Hello everyone. Just wanted to let you all know that my surgery will be done on the 16th of this month. I will be having a LAVH and a urologist will tact my bladder back into place. I'm not sure what they call that here but anyway that is what I am having.. I had 3 fibroids and an enlarged uterus. If any of you ladies have any suggestions for me, please let me know. I am new at this and I am somewhat scared. Thank you all for all the post you've made in the past.. The information has helped me so much.. May God Bless Each And Every One Of You..

Surgery Day has been Set..

It is nice to get that date and be able to know for sure what is going to be done.

Now the long wait for surgery. And yes it is the longest 2 weeks you have ever seen. Try to remain calm and know that you will be as ready as you can be by the time you go to the castle. I know easier said than done.

Hang in there

Ces.

Surgery Day has been Set..

Hi, I can tell you from experience that feeling nervous while waiting for this surgery is very normal. My emotions were all over the place while I was still waiting. And here I am - almost 3 years post op!

I found that staying busy helped me a lot while waiting. I cleaned the house, cooked and frooze a few meals, shopped for what would be needed for my recovery. I also took the time for a bit of fun. I went to lunch and movies with friends, took nice long bubble baths...Prepampering!! Chose something for yourself that you'll really enjoy and just do it

Best wishes.

I too kept busy. Shop for things that you know you will need during your recovery (toiletries, toilet paper, groceries, etc) and that way you don't have to worry about it later. It was actually kinda fun, in a weird sort of way! My daugher and I made it an "adventure" and we had fun together those 2 weeks before surgery. She is 23 and we are best friends...I look back and suddenly realize how much she helped me through that time in my life. I am 14 wks post op now, and the waiting period seems like such a long time ago! We went shopping, cleaned house, went out dancing with friends, and just had fun together. I did not dwell on what was about to happen...the time flew by, and now that it is over, time is still flying by! We live in the country, so we did alot of "plan ahead meals" for me when I would be alone, got DirecTV installed (which was a godsend during my recovery!), and things went very smoothly. I found it best for me to keep busy and plan things out...that way, I had very little time to think negative thoughts. Worked for me very well! Good luck and think positive and happy thoughts! It will be over before you know it and you will look back with a smile on your face!
