8 days post hysterectomy: Discharge Question

Since coming home, I have had a super thin discharge that is light pink to brown in tint. Most days it is very minimal. The only day that I had more was the day my bowels were full. It really increased today, but today has been my most active day yet. I had a doctors appt this morning and then my mom took me to breakfast. I did come home and took a nap and tried to stay down and rest. Still, I felt good and did small things around the house. I also had no BM today. Would more activity cause the increase in discharge? Like I said it's not different, just more. Definitely not blood. It does have a smell, but not an odor, if that makes sense. I guess I will call the doc just to check if it's still going on in the morning, but thought I would ask here, too.

Re: Discharge Question

It's normal for it to have a smell but it should not be foul. And discharge will increase with activity and it can increase as your stitches start to dissolve.

Re: Discharge Question

It sounds normal to me. I had that off and on (with a few other colors) for 5 weeks, and yes the amount increased if I did more. My doctor did warn me that it could happen and to call if it smelled foul or if I had severe pain or ran a fever. If it worries you call, otherwise just know that some of us have had what you describe, and it was normal healing.

Re: 8 days post hysterectomy: Discharge Question

Ok, I think it's just normal, then. The smell is "natural" if that makes sense - not alarming. I'll keep an eye on it. I'm feeling good and going to make sure I keep forcing myself to take it easy!
