Advice Needed

My hyst is scheduled for 11/7. I have not gone in for my pre-op yet, they say it will be next week. I am feeling a little nervous. I have not had kids and only one prior surgery. I have only met the Dr. doing my surgery once and so do not know her that well. I was sent to her by my primary whom I also work for, we are very close and I know if she had to go for a hyst she would go to Dr. P. Any info you all could share with me would be greatly appreciated.

do not be afraid to ask questions. No question is stupid --

keep your sense of humor -- it will help as the waiting wears on.

Try to figure out the positive sides of this surgery -- and stay focsed on them. A Positive mental attitude will help with your recover.

In preparing for your pre-op appointment, make a list of questions. You can find a great list of questions in Pre-Op Checkpoints as well as some very helpful information. It helped me to make a list of questions and add to it as I thought of things. My DH went with me to my pre-op appointment and wrote down the answers to my questions for me.

I also read tons of posts on this site it helped me so much to form my question list for the doc. It is hard waiting for the surgery, by the time the insurance got in gear it was 6 months of waiting. I spent lots of time here on this site and it truly helped me. It turned out everyone was right LOL Waiting is the hardest part. I am sending prayers your way.
