TAH How long b-4 I can drive?

Hi!

When I went to my first post op Dr visit asked about restrictions, but forgot to ask about driving.
I haven't taken pain meds for a week.
How long was it before you guys got to drive?
With my C-Section it was two weeks.
Maybe I can figure this out without bothering my doc.

mine was 2 weeks....she said if I wasn't taking any pain meds that it would be ok as long I was was comfortable driving.

My doctor said 2 weeks also and I felt fine driving at that point. I had a SAH.

Mine said 2 wks too...and I really wasn't "with it" enough to drive before then. Plus, they are worried with a TAH (abdominal incision) that you might injure yourself if you have to suddenly turn or jerk while driving. When I did go in a car, I put a small pillow between me and the seatbelt to avoid any rubbing, etc.

My Dr. said 2 weeks also. That was when he discharged me. Yesterday was 2 weeks from my discharge, and I am still not excited to drive LOL. DH is off on Mon. and Tues. so maybe tomorrow I will give it a go.

i drove 5 days after hospital release so like 9 days he said as long as i was not on pain meds,,went for quick trips,,going farther now,,so glad i am not stuck at home think its good for your moral

I will now have to convince DH.
He's overly cautious, because he's never seen me so sick.
For the first time in 32 years I was totally dependent on him for the first few days home due to a urinary tract infection 3 days after my hospital release.
