Two Days to Surgery-Exhausting Week
Monday I had pre-op with GYN. I planned a relaxing week. Thought I might go to the beach and just have leisurely week. I have been so busy I am exhausted. The best experience was preadmission at hospital yesterday. Everyone; receptionist, nurses, anesthesiologist, X-ray and lab techs, were are all very pleasant and nurturing. I sure needed it. Doctor wanted me to have consult with anesthesiologist. Tomorrow I go back to lab for another blood draw (type and match). I will then go to pick my son up from the Orlando Airport. I wanted to go to t he beach
however, I am so pooped, I will listen to my body.
One nice thing I did for myself today was to have a massage therapist give me a message and do healing touch. Well MondayI have to be at the hospital at 5:30 A. M. and surgery is scheduled for 7:30 A. M. Doctor told me not to eat anything on Sunday. Begin bowel prep Sunday A. M. conclude at midnight, sound long to me. Citrus nitrate A. M. and fleet enemas at 7 pm
and 12 midnight. Better than go-lytely.
Well, I just wanted to touch basis with you who understand how I am feeling and what I am facing. I am facing my surgery with an unusual peace the last four days. I know it is the peace that passes all understanding. I was a bundle of nerves up to then. I am praying to be able to continue letting go over fear.
Thanks for being here for me.
Peace!
Cecelia

Hi,Cecelia!
Sounds like you are doing a GREAT job of getting your mind, body and spirit ready for Monday. The beach is a favorite place of mine too!
Know that we will be thinking about and praying for you.

Two Days to Surgery-Exhausting Week
Cecelia:
I know what you mean. I did pre-op Monday of this week and although it was a rather long experience (blood drawn, urine sample, EKG, chest x-ray) everyone was nice and I am glad I did pre-admit cause now when i go in on Tuesday for surgery, I go directly to the 3rd floor, not to admissions.
I had planned on a fairly light week, but was in the office Tuesday through Friday just getting as much taken care of as possible as I will be out after surgery. I also spent a lot of time preparing the house --all laundry done, house clean, kids lined up to be where they need to be while I am in the hosp.
I am still going to do some shopping today.
As for the day prior to admission, I am not to eat or drink anything after mid-night on Monday. I have to shower with an anti-bacterial soap Monday night and Tuesday a.m. and be at the hosp. by 7:30 for surgery at 9:30. I am to do a Fleet enima Monday evening about an hour to an hour and a half after I eat; or at least two hours before bed. I would go crazy if I could not eat at all the full day before surgery! Good luck on that.
Make sure you come back and tell us how you are doing!
Michele
