TAH: Surgery in 2 days!!

Hi all, I have had small fibroids my whole life, but in the last six months apparently they have gotten quite large. 3 remarkable, 7", 5", and 3" in diameter. I have come to realize the back pain, constipation, and urinary frequency have all been s/s of the fibroids. Right before Christmas, during a routine PAP, my OB remarked that they have gotten quite large and we needed to discuss options, especially since I had been complaining of severe menstrual pain and back pain. After much discussion with him and my fiance, we chose the TOA, which is scheduled for Feb. 01, 2013! I'm nervous, but trying to be brave for the fiance, who is a wreck, since he is two states away and can't be here for me

Do you have someone around to help you once you get out of hospital? You need to be able to lie back and relax for a while!

Understandable to be nervous, but try not to worry, it will soon be over and you can get on with your healing. Lots of people on this forum who can help with any questions you may have or just for moral support. x

Thanks for the encouraging words! My friends will be there for the surgery, and my mom and dad are coming in to spend a week after I am released. Then my honey will arrive! So I think all will be fine. I'm just worried because I'm so independent, and I'm not used to anyone helping me. Hopefully I'll let them!
